The SST Registration System is dedicated to protecting your privacy online. The following policy statement outlines how your information will be handled by the department while using our services.

We collect the following information in order to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site and to help make our site more accessible and useful to visitors:

Use of Information
The above information is used to determine what is of the most and least interest, times of peak usage, and missing or broken links. We will not contact you without your explicit permission. We also will not give or transfer your personally identifiable information except for purposes approved by the Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board.

Secure Applications
Secure applications such as this one provide the opportunity to receive  or  create a  password  to access or submit personal information. You should not divulge  your  password to anyone. The SST Registration System will never ask you  for your password in an unsolicited telephone call or e mail.  When  you have finished with any password protected application, we recommend  you exit the page. 

E mail
If during your visit to the SST Registration System Web site you send an e-mail message, the message and e-mail address may be retained by the server. This may be used to respond to you, to address issues you identify, to further improve our Web site, or to forward the e-mail to another agency for appropriate action.

For example the confidentiality of personal information you disclose via e-mail cannot be guaranteed. Therefore we recommend against sending any personal information to us in e-mail.

Passwords or PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) are required for online transactions.

Information is exchanged via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) that uses 128-bit encryption.

Information requests must pass through multiple hardware and software security firewalls.

The SST Registration system is subject to state and internal audits and continually strives to improve its systems and procedures based on audit recommendations.
